During Mediation Awareness Week 2016 we're exploring what Family Mediation is and how it can help you.
The Family Mediation Council describes Family Mediation as being for people involved in family relationship breakdown, change, transition or disputes. Family relationship breakdown is nearly always a process and as mediators, we work with families before separation, during separation and sometimes long after separation. Mediation isn’t just for people who have been married, we work with couples who have lived together, with parents and with grandparents. Family Mediation isn't just something you have to do before you go to Court. Increasingly, mediation is becoming a first port of call when there is family relationship breakdown.
At MyMediation we have produced a short video "Jack's Story" to give you an idea about what Family Mediation is. The video tells the story of a family starting before a separation and ending sometime time after the separation. As well as portraying an actual mediation session, it captures some of the familiar aspects of family relationship breakdown including the emotional impact that is often involved. Jack’s story also highlights some of the benefits of Family Mediation. Each day this week we’ll be exploring an aspect of Jack’s story to explain a little bit more what Famil Mediation is and how it can help you.
